Ken Ferrer

Borne of reflection, introspection and confrontation. I map the terrain of the indescribable. To examine the interior is to speak a forgotten language; to draw it is to give it a face. In the ink, the enemy becomes a friend.

Signed, Numbered, and Hand-Rendered. No Secondary Editions. Final Manifestation.

Digital previews serve as Conceptual Visions. The final physical manifestation evolves through days of rendering process, following the specific Prognosis of the edition: The Onset, The Progression, or The Terminal Stage.

There is beauty in discomfort.

Each Hybrid Original is first produced as a professional Giclée print on Hahnemühle. This archival matrix then undergoes hours of manual hand-rendering with archival ink and charcoal. The total curation period is 4–6 weeks. This includes the hand-rendering process, archival setting, and museum-grade quality inspection. For local patrons, this period also includes custom archival framing with Museum-Grade Glass as an integral part of the finished artwork.

Acquisitions are accompanied by a dual-document archive:
COA: A technical record of archival specifications and security seals.
Patron Certificate: A personalized document recognizing your specific role in the series (The Onset, The Progression, or The Terminal Stage).

All acquisitions are handled with meticulous care and housed in durable, high-impact packaging to ensure the hand-rendered layers arrive in pristine condition. To protect the physical media, artworks are shipped flat and never rolled.Local (Philippines): Handled via LBC.
International: Handled via DHL Express
Payments are accepted through: GCash, Paymaya, or Paypal.

Artist Statement

My practice inhabits the interstitial corridor between clinical objectivity and the subjective upheaval of the patient. While my academic foundations in Occupational Therapy provide a diagnostic framework, my work is primarily a reclamation of lived experience—a testimony from an individual intimately acquainted with the internal tempest of the psyche. This duality manifests in my Hybrid-Physical methodology, where the detached, analytical gaze of science converges with the visceral, obsessive permanence of the hand. My art functions as a deliberate, tactile topography of the mind, utilizing the friction of manual labor to translate the abstract weight of thought into a palpable, enduring reality.By merging digital precision with manual endurance, I utilize my medium as a conduit for cognitive reframing—an intentional act of "doing" that mirrors the meticulous discipline of my medical roots while transcending them. My practice employs thousands of hand-rendered lines and charcoal to emulate and embody their unforgiving nature, transforming a fleeting digital matrix into a physical artifact. This commitment to the labor of the hand is a ritualistic confrontation with the self, where every stroke serves as a landmark in the cartography of a complex internal landscape. My current body of work explores the amorphous specters of internal dissonance—suppression, repression, and existential malaise—granting them a tangible, anatomical weight through the lens of Dark Surrealism. These figures, whether human, creature, or barren landscape, are captured in the throes of metamorphosis and structural entropy; they are laden with the crushing gravity of their own existence, yet they possess a terrifying, undeniable resilience. My imagery suggests that the psyche remains a chaotic wilderness until it is rigorously mapped, and by giving the entity a face and a physical texture, I invite the viewer to move beyond superficial observation and begin the slow, necessary alchemy of befriending the Abyss. In an era defined by fleeting digital consumption and "aesthetic" recovery, my commitment to the Hybrid-Physical serves as a visceral record of survival. My art is an archival document of the courage required to look directly at the Prognoses of the Human Condition and discern the haunting beauty embedded within the fracture. Deviating from the colorful escapism and the performative vibrance of the mental health narrative, I aim to stand as a witness to the internal struggle, proving that a profound, unyielding strength can be excavated even from the terminal stages of the soul.
